Water cooled motors

Main features

They are asynchronous three-phase motors with a squirrel cage rotor equipped with a water jacket cooler. They are made in according to the standards of the registry authorities as: ABS, BV, CCS, DNV, GL, KR, LR, NK, RINA, RS. These motors follow the standards defined by IEC 60034 and IEC 60072.

Construction features

They are made for low and medium voltage with a range of power starting from 300 kW up to 2400 kW with 4/6/8 poles in vertical or horizontal construction. The mechanical protection degree is IP55 or IP56 depending on the request.

Why use it

They’re mainly used in very dusty environments or in restricted and unventilated spaces, as on a board ship. These motors reduce the heat dissipation in the installation surrounding and reduce the dust circulation. The specific motor execution also limits the noise .

Areas of use

The water-cooled asynchronous generator is especially used in Hydroelectric power plants, where heating or noise problems occur.
